Zombie Land Saga Gets First Trailer & New Key Visual, Staff Also

The Rangers won’t have a homecoming in this borough, that’s for sure.

Earlier today, the official Zombie Land Saga anime website updated with a new trailer and visual, as well as the main staffers attached to the project and information on the show’s theme songs.

We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 90-second promo opens on a deceptively cheery note, as the series sets the scene, opening with one of the female leads in the year 2008, as she sets out to deliver a love letter. At the 20-second mark, the trailer cuts to high-intensity footage of zombie executions, interspersed with cuts from a surreal stage show. At the 50-second point, the teaser cuts once more to scenes of the main cast, particularly the flamboyant antics of Mamoru Miyano’s character.

The image features the show’s female leads, as well as a one-eyed zombie dog.

Staff

Munehisa Sakai (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Season 1, One Piece Episodes 244 – 372) will direct the series at MAPPA, with Kazumi Fukagawa (Idolish7) providing character designs. Shigeru Murakoshi (Azure Striker Gunvolt, Garo: Crimson Moon) is in charge of series composition for the project.

The Zombie Land Saga Production Committee is credited with the original concept.

Theme Songs

The main theme song will be performed by the show’s six main voice actors, including Kaede Hondo, Asami Tano, Risa Taneda, Maki Kawase, Rika Kinugawa, and Minami Tanaka.

Premiere

Zombie Land Saga will hit Japanese TV on October 4. The full broadcast schedule is as follows (All times JST):

Zombie Land Saga is a co-production between Cygames, MAPPA, and Avex Pictures. Nobuhiro Takenaka will serve as producer for the project, which has been in the works for four years. In an interview with Anime Herald, Takenaka revealed that the studio is negotiating global licenses as of July. He added that MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka had the original idea for the work, stating “Otsuka-san of MAPPA had the idea and a clear vision.”
