Studio David Production will produce the show, which features original scenario writer Akira handling series composition. Tatsuya Katō will score the show’s soundtrack, while Satoru Kuwabara serves as music producer.
The main voice cast will reprise their roles from the Ensemble Stars! smartphone game.
Ensemble Stars will hit Japanese TV in 2019. The series was first announced in 2015, with GENCO attached as the studio. The show was originally slated for a 2017 première, though it was delayed due to what both companies described as “various circumstances.”
The Ensemble Stars smartphone game launched on Google Play on April 28, 2015. The iPhone release came three days later, on May 1, 2015. The title has since received four stage musicals, a manga series, light novels, and music CDs.
In addition to the staffing news the Ensemble Stars website announced that the franchise will host a collaboration event with Yowamushi Pedal. More details will be announced at a later date.
