Earlier today, the Starmyu anime staff announced that the project will receive a third season. The title is slated for a Summer 2019 premiere, though no specifics as to timing or format have yet to be announced.
It was also announced that the project will receive a stage show, titled the “Starmyu Spin-Off Shuffle Revue”. Shows will be held in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, with tickets opening on October 10. All seats will be priced at 7,600 yen ($66.81 USD)
The current schedule is as follows:
- Tokyo: 1/23/2019 – 1/27/2019 at the EX Theater Roppongi
- Kyoto: 1/30/2019 at the Kyoto Theater
- Osaka: 2/2/2019 – 2/3/2019 at the Morinomiya Piloti Hall
Starmyu began airing in the Fall 2015 broadcast season. The series received a second season in Spring 2017. Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko’s Basketball, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These) directed both seasons at C-Station, with Asami Watanabe (Akame ga KILL!) providing character designs. Sayaka Harada (Code:Realize -Guardian of Rebirth-, Convenience Store Boy Friends) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll streamed both seasons of Starmyu as it aired in Japan. They describe it as:
Ayanagi Academy: home of musical dreams and insane competition. New student Yuta Hoshitani dreams of being in show business, but to get there he’ll have to gain acceptance from the Kao Council (Cherry Blossom Flower Council), Ayanagi Academy’s five highest ranking students.
