You might not know this but over in Japan, Square-Enix is a huge multifaceted company with their hands in many, many different pies including manga and book publishing. This is why it should come as no shock to anyone that they’ve decided to expand their horizons a bit and start up their own English book and manga imprint later this year here in the US.
In a press release put out yesterday by Penguin Random House Publisher Services, it was revealed that PRHPS has entered a multi-year sales and distribution deal with the Japanese multimedia giant which will see them release various titles from Square-Enix including manga, novels, and art books, beginning in Fall 2019. The new imprint will launch with four titles; Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future, Hi Score Girl, A Man and His Cat (Oji-sama to Neko), and a complete collection of Soul Eater.
This is big news for manga fans as Square-Enix has some quite beloved titles in their care including the aforementioned Soul Eater which was previously released by Yen Press in English. Please stay tuned to this site for more information on future titles from the imprint as they are announced.
