I introduce to you, the not so quintessential cast members of this quirky comedy.
Earlier today, the official The Quintessential Quintuplets (Go-Tōbun no Hanayome) anime website updated with two new cast members, as well as details on the show’s theme songs.
We break the details down below.
Cast
The series will add the following:
- Raiha Uesugi: Natsumi Takamori
- Yūya Uesugi: Satoshi Hino

Theme Songs
Opening theme song Go-tōbun no Kimochi (Five Equal Feelings) will be performed by Kana Hanazawa, Ayana Taketatsu, Miku Itō, Ayane Sakura, and Inori Minase. Aya Uchida will perform closing theme song Sign.
The Quintessential Quintuplets will hit Japanese TV on January 10. The full premiere schedule is as follows:
- TBS: 1/10/2019 at 25:28 (1/11/2019 at 1:28AM)
- Sun TV: 1/11/2019 at 24:00 (1/12/2019 at Midnight)
- BS-TBS: 1/12/2019 at 26:00 (1/13/2019 at 2:00AM)
Satoshi Kuwabara (Dagashi Kashi 2, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal) will direct the project at Tezuka Productions, with Michinosuke Nakamura providing character designs. Keiichirō Ōchi (Hinamatsuri, La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky) is in charge of series composition.
The series will star the following:
- Fūtarō Uesugi: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
- Ichika Nakano: Kana Hanazawa
- Nino Nakano: Ayana Taketatsu
- Miku Nakano: Miku Itō
- Yotsuba Nakano: Ayane Sakura
- Itsuki Nakano: Inori Minase
Negi Haruba’s The Quintessential Quintuplets manga launched in the pages of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2017. The series currently spans five compiled volumes, with the latest hitting Japanese stores on July 17.
Kodansha Comics currently distributes the title in North America. They describe it as:
One day, a poor high school second-year named Futaro Uesugi comes across a private tutoring gig with good pay. But his pupils are his classmates!! And they’re quintuplets!! A-and they’re all gorgeous girls, but they’re also troublemakers who hate to study and are on the verge of flunking out! And his first task is simply gaining the sisters’ trust?! Every day is a party! The curtain is rising on the Nakano quintuplets’ quirky romantic comedy with five times the cute!!
