Earlier today, Anime NYC announced that voice actress Rie Kugimiya will attend this year’s event as a guest of honor. The convention will be Kugimiya’s first-ever North American appearance.
Kugimiya will appear on Sunday, November 17, where she’ll take part in a panel discussion on the main stage, followed by an autograph signing session. Though the panel will be open to all attendees, the autograph session will be strictly ticketed, with admissions going on sale on October 6. Tickets to the autograph session will be $125. The ticket will include a signing board / shikishi, as well as reserved seating during the panel.
Rie Kugimiya has been active in the anime industry since 1998, when she made her debut as Tadami Saeki in etude prologue -Shaking heart-. Since then, she’s gone on to voice more than three hundred roles, including Kagura (Gintama), Alphonse Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist), Shana (Shakugan no Shana), and Happy (Fairy Tail).
Anime NYC will be held from November 15 – 17 at New York’s Javits Center.
