Worry not, anime fans! Tsuttsun and Iroha will continue their story next year.
Earlier today, the Real Girl (3D Kanojo) anime’s official Twitter account announced that the show will return for a second season. The new run will air in January 2019 on NTV’s AnichU block.
A visual commemorating the announcement was also revealed, which you can check out below.
Takashi Naoya (Luck & Logic, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) was tapped to direct the first season at Hoods Entertainment, with Satomi Kurita (Hina Logic – from Luck & Logic) providing character designs. Deko Akao (Noragami, Flying Witch) is in charge of series composition for the project.
Sentai Filmworks currently holds the domestic rights to Real Girl‘s first season. They describe the show as:
The character-driven story follows the reclusive Hikari Tsutsui as he accidentally falls in love with the popular Iroha Igarashi, despite his aversion to real-world girls. The couple begins to develop a close bond neither expected which challenges their preconceived notions of who people truly are.
Mao Nanami’s original manga ran in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine from July 2011 through May 2016, and spans twelve compiled volumes. Kodansha Comics currently releases the Real Girl manga in North America.
