Earlier today, the official YouTube account for League of Legends updated with a new teaser trailer for their 2019 gaming season. The teaser, which was produced by anime studio P.A. Works, follows a college-aged girl who is drawn into the game, and its competitive scene, by a group of her peers.
Shingo Yamashita directed the teaser, with Bandai Namco Arts producing the music. YouTuber AmaLee performed the vocals.
League of Legends is produced by Riot Games. The title is a Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), which first launched in October 2009. In September, it was estimated that the title saw more than 100 million active players every month.
The title is a staple in the eSports scene, with Riot Games hosting the League Championship Series in the United States and Berlin, as well as numerous regional tournaments. The 2017 League of Legends World Championship saw more than 60 million viewers, and a prize pool that totaled more than $4 million.
