So, can we call this combo “mythical?” No? Darn.
Earlier today, the official Overlord anime website updated with details on the theme songs for the show’s upcoming third season, titled Overlord III. The new season will see OxT returning to provide opening theme song VORACITY, while MYTH&ROID will return to provide the show’s closing theme song.
Both songs will receive CD singles. VORACITY will ship to stores on July 25. MYTH&ROID’s untitled (as of press time) closing theme will ship on August 8.
Overlord III will hit Japanese TV this July. Madhouse will produce the new run, reprising their duties from the first two seasons.
New cast members include:
- Fulder: Takaya Hashi
- Gilkunif: Takahiro Sakurai
The previous show, Overlord II, ended on April 3.
Naoyuki Itou returned to direct Overlord‘s second season at Madhouse, with Yukie Sugawara back in charge of series composition. Character designer Takahiro Yoshimatsu (Desert Punk, Trigun) was joined by Satoshi Tasaki (No Game, No Life Zero, Rideback) this time around.
Crunchyroll streamed Overlord II as a simulcast, while Funimation is producing a simuldub. Crunchyroll describes the show as:
When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPCs begin to develop personalities and minds of their own he decides to put his skills to use as the game’s new overlord.
