Earlier today, digital service Netflix updated with a listing for the Back Street Girls anime. The publisher will add the show to their digital lineup on December 12, under the title Back Street Girls: GOKUDOLS.
As of press time, no further details have been announced. Netflix describes the show as:
To pay for an epic blunder, three yakuza brothers are forced to alter their bodies, form a girl group and break into the underground J-Pop idol scene.
Back Street Girls aired in the Summer 2018 broadcast season.
Chiaki Kon (When They Cry: Higurashi, Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3) was tapped to direct Back Street Girls at J.C. Staff, with Susumu Yamakawa taking charge of series composition.
Jasmine Gyuh’s Back Street Girls manga launched in Weekly Young Magazine in March 2015. The series currently spans eleven collected volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on June 6.
