Finally, we’ll have a Christmas special that’s a little more metal.
Earlier today, Netflix announced that a new Aggretsuko anime special is in the works. The episode, titled Aggretsuko: We Wish You A Metal Christmas, will launch worldwide on December 20.
Netflix lists the special as having a 22-minute run time.
Rarecho returned to direct director’s and write Aggretsuko: We With You A Metal Christmas at Fanworks, with Yeti providing character designs. Tim Timebomb and the Interrupters will perform opening and closing theme song Jingle Bells.

Retsuko’s newfound obsession with posting pics on her social media account threatens to ruin her Christmas, while Haida still hopes to spend Christmas with her.
Aggretsuko‘s first anime series hit Japanese TV in April 2016. The series was a short-form title that aired during TBS’s Ō-sama no Brunch program from April 2, 2016 to March 31, 2018, spanning 100 episodes in all. Rarecho directed the project and wrote the scripts at Fanworks.
Sanrio introduced Aggretsuko to North America on January 5, 2017.
Netflix launched the second Aggretsuko anime series on April 20, 2018. The ten-episode title was directed and written by Rarecho at Fanworks, with Yeti providing character designs.
At Anime Expo 2018, Netflix announced that they renewed the series for a second season.
