Classes are over, and it’s time for revenge!
The latest issue of Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex magazine launched a sequel series to Hazuki Takeoka and illustrator Tiv’s Masamune-kun’s Revenge manga. The project, titled Masamune-kun’s Revenge After School (Masamune-kun no Revenge after school), will tell a series of “after stories” based on characters from the original title, including Masamune, Aki, and Yoshino.
According to Tiv, the title will be a “short-term” series.
The original Masamune-kun’s Revenge manga ran in Monthly Comic Rex from October 2012 through June 2018, spanning eight volumes. Seven Seas holds the rights to the title in North America.
The series spawned an anime adaptation, which aired in the Winter 2017 broadcast season.
Mirai Minato (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya) directed the series at Silver Link, with Yuki Sawairi providing character designs. Michiko Yokote (Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, Genshiken) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll streamed the show as a simulcast, while Funimation produced a simuldub. Funimation describes the title as:
As a child, Masamune Makabe was mercilessly teased about his weight and cruelly nicknamed “Pig’s Foot” by a young girl named Aki Adagaki. Years later, Masamune continues to hold resentment and decides to seek revenge against his tormenter. Now, handsome and in top shape, he returns to exact vengeance on Aki! But as he gets closer to her, he finds his heart desires something other than revenge.
