It looks like this overlord’s returning to the mad house for another go-round.
Earlier today, the 13th volume of Kugane Maruyama’s Overlord light novels shipped to retailers. The book notes that studio Madhouse will return to produce the upcoming Overlord III anime TV series.
The book also notes that Volume 14 will hit stores in 2019.
Overlord III will hit Japanese TV this July. New voice cast members include:
- Fulder: Takaya Hashi
- Gilkunif: Takahiro Sakurai
The previous show, Overlord II, ended on April 3.
Naoyuki Itou returned to direct Overlord‘s second season at Madhouse, with Yukie Sugawara back in charge of series composition. Character designer Takahiro Yoshimatsu (Desert Punk, Trigun) was joined by Satoshi Tasaki (No Game, No Life Zero, Rideback) this time around.
Crunchyroll streamed Overlord II as a simulcast, while Funimation is producing a simuldub. Crunchyroll describes the show as:
When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPCs begin to develop personalities and minds of their own he decides to put his skills to use as the game’s new overlord.
