There’s nothing better than enjoying the sight of the tasty treats these campers cook up!
Earlier today, the official Laid-Back Camp anime website announced that several new projects for the franchise are in the works. A new anime TV series, as well as a feature film and a short-form anime TV series are all in production, though specifics have yet to be announced as of press time.
The news first made itself public early on October 6, when images announcing the projects, as well as a teaser visual were posted to Chinese image sharing site sinaimg, before hitting western sources such as Moetron.
Laid-Back Camp aired in the Winter 2018 broadcast season. Crunchyroll streamed the series as part of their simulcast lineup.
Yoshiaki Kyogoku directed the project at C-Station, with Mutsumi Sasaki (Dragonar Academy, Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~) providing character designs. Jin Tanaka (Anne-Happy, Go! Princess Precure) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll describes Laid-Back Campas:
Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
