Well, there’s our smoking gun.
The cover of the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (Issue 26, 2018) announced that The Promised Neverland will receive an anime adaptation. As of press time, no further details have been confirmed.
We previously reported that the adaptation was in the works on April 23.
Kaiu Shirai and illustrator Posuka Demizu’s The Promised Neverland launched in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump on August 1, 2016. The series currently spans seven volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on April 4.
Viz Media currently holds the rights to the series in North America. They describe the title as:
In THE PROMISED NEVERLAND, Emma, Norman, and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
