Earlier today, HIDIVE announced that they launched a Roku Streaming Channel. The app is available to all Roku devices running Roku OS 8.0 and up for users in the following regions:
- United States
- Argentina
- Canada
- Chile
- Colombia
- Costa Rica
- El Salvador
- France
- Guatemala
- Honduras
- Ireland
- Mexico
- Nicaragua
- Panama
- Peru
- United Kingdom
Prior to the HIDIVE channel launch, the service’s content was made available to VRV subscribers via the VRV app.
HIDIVE founder and president John Ledford comment on the news, stating:
We are excited to bring HIDIVE’s streaming entertainment service to the Roku platform […] We’ve heard from countless passionate Roku users whose collective voices made launching our HIDIVE channel for Roku a top priority and we are pleased to finally deliver this to them.
HIDIVE originally launched in June 2017 as a beta. On June 21, a day after launch, the service announced that they acquired The Anime Network’s online assets.
On March 23, HIDIVE launched its “Dubcast” line of dubbed simulcasts, which sees HIDIVE streaming local-language dubbed versions of shows within two weeks of their Japanese airing.
The platform officially exited beta on April 9, launching as a full-fledged digital platform.
