It’s a modern trailer for a show set in classic times.
Earlier today, Eleven Arts announced that Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern Part 2 will hit theaters across the United States on December 7. The film will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
The film originally hit Japanese cinemas on October 19.
The Haikara-san: Here Comes Miss Modern films are based on Waki Yamato’s classic manga series of the same name. Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Rurouni Kenshin) directed the films and wrote the screenplay at Nippon Animation. Terumi Nishii (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable, Penguindrum) provided character designs for the project.
New cast members include:
- Larisa: Maaya Sakamoto
The first film, which opened in Japan on November 11, received the approval of manga author Waki Yamato.
Eleven Arts describes the film as:
In turn of the 20th Century Japan, a period characterized by widespread innovation and social restructuring, Benio Hanamura endeavors to take modernization to new heights. With a tomboy nature, Benio rails against traditional ideas that women should take care of the home—serving their husbands rather than pursuing their own dreams. Her values as a modern woman come under fire as the one man who supports her independence, Lieutenant Shinobu Ijuin, goes missing in action. Resurfacing back in Japan, Shinobu has lost all memory of his true identity. In this stunning sequel, will Benio be able to reconnect with Shinobu before she is married off to a new man?
