It seems that another one’s fallen to Sebastian.
Earlier today, Funimation announced that their license to Black Butler II is expiring. The publisher will remove the title from streaming services and halt home video sales at the end of June.
Black Butler aired during the Summer 2018 broadcast season. The 12-episode series was directed by Hirofumi Ogura (The Laughing Salesman NEW, Comical Psychosomatic Medicine) at A-1 Pictures, with Minako Shiba (.hack//SIGN, Noir) providing character designs. Mari Okada (Maquia – When the Promised Flower Blooms, Selector Infected Wixoss) was in charge of series composition for the project.
Funimation describes the season as:
Claude Faustus is a malevolent manservant uninspired by the drab flavor of his own contracted master, Alois Trancy. The bespectacled butler sets his sights on a finer delicacy from the menu of the damned—Ciel Phantomhive. And so begins a devilish dance of death starring Sebastian and Claude: two ravenous rakehells locked in a battle for the soiled soul of the young master they so long to devour.
