Not to be outdone by Crunchyroll today, Funimation revealed four simuldubs of their own today!
On Twitter, Funimation revealed that they will be simuldubbing The Quintessential Quintuplets, part 2 of Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202, Date A Live III, and Endro!.
The Quintessential Quintuplets anime series is based on the manga 5-Tōbun no Hanayome created by Negi Haruba. It’s been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2017 and has been compiled into five volumes thus far. The manga has also been licensed by Kodansha Comics who began releasing volumes in North America in June 2018.
Satoshi Kuwabara (Dagashi Kashi 2, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal) will direct the project at Tezuka Productions, with Michinosuke Nakamura providing character designs. Keiichirō Ōchi (Hinamatsuri, La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky) is in charge of series composition.
The simuldub will premiere on January 30, 2019, and will be available in the US, CA, UK, IE, AU, NZ
Crunchyroll describes the series as:
Uesugi Fuutarou, a high school second-year from a poor family, receives a highly appealing offer to work part-time as a tutor… but his students turn out to be girls from his own class! What’s more, they’re quintuplets… and all five are beautiful, but happen to be problem students who have borderline grades and hate studying! Looks like his first assignment will be to win all the sisters’ trust?!
Date A Live, which has been previously simulcast by Funimation, is returning for a third season which will be available on January 25, 2019, in the following regions: US, CA, UK, IE.
Crunchyroll describes the plot to this one as:
Shido is just an ordinary school boy, but, he’s been recruited to help seal Spirits—the mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes that threaten mankind. There’s just one catch: the only way to seal a Spirit is to make her fall in love with him. Now that he’s saved the world once or twice, more trouble is headed his way, and there’s only so much one boy can handle.
Coming to audiences on January 30, 2019, is the fantasy series Endro!
Kaori (How to keep a mummy, Yuyushiki) will direct the anime at Studio Gokumi, with Haruko Iizuka (Little Busters!, Children of the Whales) providing character designs. Takashi Aoshima (Himōto! Umaru-chan, Yuruyuri – Happy Go Lily) is in charge of series composition for the project.
Crunchyroll describes this one as:
In the land of Naral Island, a land of magic and swords, humans and monsters live together. Once upon a time, there used to be a terrifying Demon Lord, but long, long ago the first Hero defeated the Demon Lord that appeared on Naral Island. The Demon Lord would revive again and again throughout the ages, but every time a Hero would appear to defeat it… Now these young girls attend an Adventurer’s Academy to prepare them to defeat the Demon Lord that will one day rise again.
This is the beginning of a laid-back fantasy life with no sign of the Demon Lord for these four who hope to become a party of heroes.
Finally, we come to the one that I’m sure many fans are favoring above all else: Star Blazers 2202, Part 2! Available on February 2, 2019, in the US, CA, UK, IE, AU, and NZ this series has had quite the journey so it’ll be nice for fans to get a conclusion from this one.
