Earlier today, the official Fruits Basket Twitter account updated with a teaser trailer for the show’s upcoming second season. The 55-second promo offers a brief preview of events to come, which includes several characters and scenes that were not adapted into the 2001 anime series.
Fruits Basket will return to Japanese TV in 2020.
The show’s first season aired in the Spring 2019 broadcast season. The season ended earlier today with episode 25.
Yoshihide Ibata (FLCL Progressive, Attack on Titan: Junior High) directed the title at TMS Entertainment, with Masaru Shindo providing character designs. Taku Kishimoto (Bunny Drop, Magi: Adventure of Sinbad) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll and Funimation both streamed the series as part of their digital lineups. Crunchyroll describes the show as:
Tohru Honda thought her life was headed for misfortune when a family tragedy left her living in a tent. When her small home is discovered by the mysterious Soma clan, she suddenly finds herself living with Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma. But she quickly learns their family has a bizarre secret of their own: when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Zodiac!
