These are stone-cold casting decisions.
Earlier today, anime and manga fans gathered at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center for Jump Festa ’19. At the event, the Dr. Stone anime staff showed off a new trailer and visual, as well as three cast members.
We break the details down below.
Trailer
The 30-second promo flies through several illustrated background, before wiping to a shot of Senku.
Key Visual
The image features Senku, crusted in stone, as he grasps the de-petrification serum.
Cast
The series will add the following cast members:
- Taiju Ōki: Makoto Furukawa
- Yuzuriha Ogawa: Kana Ichinose
- Tsukasa Shishio: Yūichi Nakamura
Dr. Stone will air in Summer 2019. TMS Entertainment is producing the adaptation.
The confirmed voice cast includes:
- Senku: Yūsuke Kobayashi
Riichiro Inagaki and illustrator Boichi’s Dr. Stone manga launched in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017. The series spans six compiled volumes to date, with the latest shipping to stores on December 4.
Viz Media currently holds the rights to the Dr. Stone manga, which they describe as:
