Earlier today, the official Double Decker! Doug and Kirill anime website updatd with new details on the show’s upcoming “Extra story” episodes. The premiere dates and episode titles for each episode were revealed, which you can check out below:
- 2/10/2019: EX-01: Nana-nin no Keiji no Nichijō! (The Daily Lives of Seven Detectives!)
- 3/10/2019: EX-02: Infernal Unfair!
- 4/10/2019: EX-03: Keiji Kariage Yukemuri Satsujin Jikenbo! (Detective Buzzcut: The Case of the Steam Murderer!)
Episode EX-01 will be set between the fourth and fifth episodes of the series. Episode EX-02 will take place between the eighth and ninth. The final extra episode will be a follow-up, set after the events of the main series.
All episodes will launch on all major streaming platforms in Japan, with both rental and unlimited streaming options available. Rental outlets include Bandai Channel, Tsutaya TV, Google Play, PlayStation Store, and Amazon Video. Unlimited streaming outlets include Bandai Channel, d Anime Store, Hulu, Netflix, and AbemaTV.
The episodes will also ship on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 24, 2019. The set will include a companion CD, which feaures cast commentary and an audio drama. The actual video disc will include companion booklet, and episode commentaries.
Double Decker! Doug and Kirill aired in the Fall 2018 broadcast season.
Joji Furuta (The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, ēlDLIVE) was tapped to direct the project at Sunrise, with Norihiro Itagaki providing character designs. Tomohiro Suzuki (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., One-Punch Man) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming Double Decker! as part of their digital lineup. They describe the show as:
The city state of Lisvalletta. Two suns rise above this city, and the people here live peaceful lives, but in the shadows crime and illegal drugs run rampant. Among them is the dangerous, highly lethal drug “Anthem” which casts a dark shadow over the city. The SEVEN-O Special Crime Investigation Unit specializes in cracking down on Anthem. This unit operates in two man “buddy” teams in what’s called the “Double Decker System” to tackle the problem. Doug Billingham is a seasoned investigator, and joining him is Kirill Vrubel, whose abilities are mysterious and unknown. less
