Earlier today, the official Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Twitter account announced that upcoming movie Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion will get a global theatrical run. The film will open in eleven regions worldwide, including:
- North America
- United Kingdom
- Australia
- Taiwan
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
- Singapore
- Malaysia
- Indonesia
- Philippines
- Thailand
Sentai Filmworks previously announced that they would give the film a theatrical run in North America. They describe it as:
Adventurers may come from far and wide to test their mettle within the dungeon beneath Orario, but that’s not the only location to experience! The gang may be familiar with the dark depths, but in this new story by the series’ original writer, Fujino Omori, Bell’s latest quest takes him beyond the dungeon. Fans can follow Hestia, Bell, Liliruca and the rest alongside the goddess Artemis as the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? saga continues in a brand-new adventure!
Katsushi Sakurabi (Flying Witch, Lunar Legend Tsukihime) is directing DanMachi: Arrow of Orion at J.C. Staff, with Shigeki Kimoto (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Sky Girls) providing character designs. Series creator Fujino Ōmori is writing the film’s script. Keiji Inai (The Royal Tutor, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) will score the movie’s soundtrack.
The film will star the following:
- Hestia: Inori Minase
- Bell Cranell: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
- Liliruca Arde: Maaya Uchida
- Hermes: Sōma Saitō
- Welf Crozzo: Yoshimasa Hosoya
All five actors are reprising their roles from the original TV series.
The first season of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? aired in the Spring 2015 broadcast season. Yoshiki Yamakawa (Kill Me Baby, Little Busters!) directed the series at J.C. Staff, while Shigeki Kimoto (Sky Girls) provided character designs. Hideki Shirane (Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Queen’s Blade: Rebellion) was in charge of series composition.
Sentai Filmworks currently holds the rights to the DanMachi anime.
Yen Press currently holds the rights to Fujino Ōmori and illustrator Suzuhito Yasuda’s DanMachi light novels and manga. They describe the title as:
In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon.
But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans.
He wants to pick up girls.
Is it wrong to face the perils of Dungeon alone, in a single-member guild blessed by a failed goddess? Maybe. Is it wrong to dream of playing hero to hapless maidens in Dungeon? Maybe not.
