In this time of crisis, we stand by our Black readers and members of our community — we could not in good conscience call ourselves a feminist site if this were not so. Below we have compiled a list of resources, including donation links, guides to legal rights for anyone planning to protest, and further reading for those looking to educate themselves on police brutality. Please follow friend of the site Anime Herald‘s Twitter for further donation opportunities and information.
ActBlue Bail Fund Donation Form: This form splits donations across 39 different bail bond funds across the US. Donors can choose specific groups to focus on or split a donation equally across all of them.
The Nina Pop and Tony McDade Mental Health Recovery Funds: Funding dedicated to providing therapeutic support to Black trans individuals traumatized by the ongoing violence. Links provide opportunities both to donate and apply for aid.
Know Your Rights: Booklets compiled by the National Lawyers Guild meant to be printed and easy-to-carry for protesters on the ground. Available in English, Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, and Bengali.
Creative Interventions Toolkit: A guide compiled by seven feminist partner organizations that provides starting blocks for community-based prevention of domestic abuse and sexual assault without police involvement
Stop Law Enforcement Violence Toolkit: A guide for organizers on preventing police violence against BIPOC with a specific focus on the harm faced by marginalized genders.
Curriculum for White Americans to Educate Themselves on Race and Racism–from Ferguson to Charleston: A reading list compiled in 2015 for white allies looking to educate themselves on systemic racism.
