“Ahiru no Sora” Anime Gets Main Cast, Staff, & Trailer

Earlier today, the official Ahiru no Sora anime website updated with the show’s main cast, several staffers, and details on the show’s opening theme song. In addition, the site updated with a teaser trailer and visual.

We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 90-second promo introduces the major characters, using snippets of character dialogue to provide the major story beats. Opening theme song Happy Go Ducky kicks in at the 45-second mark.

Visual

The image features the main cast members posing in their basketball uniforms.

Theme Songs

Ahiru no Sora will hit Japanese TV in October.

Shingo Tamaki (Aho-Girl) will direct the title at diomedea, with Keizou Kusakawa (Asura Cryin’, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha) serving as chief director. Yoshino Honda (Fuuka) is providing character designs, while Go Zappa (Shin Koihime Musō, Beatless) tackles series composition.

Takeshi Hinata’s Ahiru no Sora manga launched in the pages of Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2003. To date, fifty compiled volumes have been released, with the latest hitting stores on November 16, 2018.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

He’s short, weak, and has just transferred to a new school. Kurumatani Sora is the main character in this story who loves basketball. He has been shooting hoops ever since he was little and has been trying to grow tall just like his mother, who “used” to be a basketball player. What happened to her and what Sora will do at the new school is all up to you to find out!
