You know, part of me wants to hear Nick talk about this crazy town of Los Angeles.
Earlier today, the official Ace Attorney anime website announced that the series will get a TV special. The episode, which airs on January 19 at 17:30 (5:30PM), will be set before Phoenix became an attorney. The plot will be set during Phoenix’s college years, and focus on a period when he was a defendant in a court of law.
The second season of the Ace Attorney anime started airing on October 6.
Ayumu Watanabe (If Her Flag Breaks, Space Brothers) returned to direct the series at Cloverworks. Keiko Ōta (Hyakko!) was once again in charge of character designs on the project, while Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inazuma Eleven, Pokémon XY) took charge of series composition.
Kaoru Wada (Princess Tutu, Ninja Scroll) returned to score the show’s soundtrack. Original game designer Shu Takumi is collaborating on the project.
Crunchyroll is streaming the Ace Attorney anime as it airs in Japan. They describe it as:
As a brand-new defense lawyer, Phoenix Wright is learning what it means to be a true defender of justice. But when his mentor is murdered, things go downhill fast! With all evidence pointing to the victim’s sister Maya, it’s up to Phoenix to use all his wit and powerful shouting to prove her innocence. Which is easier said than done when up against Miles Edgeworth, the genius prosecutor.
