3 Trailers, First Cast Revealed For Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue Anime

That’s a lot of ways to say “Kitty!”

Earlier today, the official Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue (My Housemate is Sometimes on My Lap, Sometimes on My Head.) anime website updated with three trailers and a pair of cast reveals.

We break the details down below.

Trailers

The three trailers are told from different perspectives. One is from lead character Mikazuki Subaru, one from stray cat Haru’s view, and one that combines the two. All three trailers feature the voices for Mikazuki and Haru providing narration.

The series will star the following:

  • Subaru Mikazuki: Kenshou Ono
  • Haru: Haruka Yamazaki

Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue Key VisualDōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue hits Japanese TV in 2019.

Kaoru Suzuki (DIVE!!, Hellsing eps. 2, 7, 12) was tapped to direct the project at Zero-G, with Masaru Kitao (Death Note, Dances with the Dragons) providing character designs. Deko Akao (Flying Witch, Anonymous Noise) is in charge of series composition.

Tsunami Minatsuki and illustrator Futatsuya Asu’s Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue launched in the pages of Holp Shuppan’s Comic Polaris in 2015. The series currently spans four compiled volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on March 13.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

Mystery writer Mikazuki Subaru, who isn’t good at dealing with people, finds them to be a disturbance when it comes to building his imaginary world. One day, he chances upon a stray cat and feels inspiration strike so he brings the cat home as his muse. Can watching the inexplicable behaviors of a cat form material for a novel?

Featuring perspectives from the human’s point of view as well as the cat’s.
